Great spot!!! Right on the Hudson River. Rooms are really beautiful and modern. Full glass walls looking outside with the full black out motorized shades. Staff are all super friendly and polite.

This place is clean. Anyone that know me, know that quality matters to me. When I travel it has to be clean. The set up here is super easy to navigate and I love that. The customer service is top tier I really appreciate how they help the people. They are very attentive and I need that as well. One thing they have to fix is that there is not any phone service there. I don’t like unsecured networks and that is a deal breaker but I love what they created there. It’s really a nice place to get away tucked away.

What an incredible find. Found it on a whim traveling around the Catskill area for fall foliage. I never wanted to leave, I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. I spontaneously booked a second night. The Hudson River room views are amazing (ask for room 403 - 2 queens on the water). The room was huge, beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious and the shower head pressure was great! I loved the high end toiletries and extras they provided. Convenient free parking and a delicious Resturant next door - Patrick Henry’s - with yummy cocktails. Don’t miss out trying The Yellow Deli - short walk (yummy food, coffee & the kindest people I’ve ever met)! The nearby park and views of the Hudson were breathtaking!

We just stayed in the Heron Suite all weekend as we had our wedding at the Wire on 11/7/25. Everything was amazing! The staff was extremely accommodating for a stressed out bride and made everything go smoothly for us. The room was beautiful and clean. All our guests loved their rooms as well, with beautiful views of the Hudson River. We can’t wait to come back!

I loooove this hotel. Here on business but I’d absolutely try to make my way to this area (probably fall or summer) to better enjoy the cute little town and outdoors. The interior is so cool, urban modern vibes everywhere. Rooms are beautiful, modern, fabulous shower: get a river view. Staff are all super nice. Walls may be a teeny thin? I could hear our neighbors but otherwise 5/5.

It was a four night stay in this beautiful hotel. We were in the Hudson Valley for a visit to the hospital in Hudson. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all aspects of the booking, check in and late check out process. Peyton the Guest Services Manager was always informative and helpful with the questions and responses to my questions about the hotel and area. Chrissy was also helpful with the booking and breakfast safety concerns with my allergies. The view from my corner room was of the river. I am sure that in the warmer months there is more boat traffic but the ice flows and birds were interesting with the tidal flows. We will definitely be back again under less challenging reasons to explore the historic downtown and the park along the river.

The James Newbury Hotel is more than just the best hotel in Coxsackie--hardly an achievement--it's a jewel of the Hudson Valley, a worthy entrant on the scene that's already populated with some of the best hotels in the United States. The rooms are spacious, luxuriously appointed, quiet, comfortable, and functional. The common areas are all beautifully maintained and useful (including a superlative breakfast at the downstairs restaurant). And The Wire next door is downright beautiful.

Room was beautiful and clean. Got snowed in during our anniversary and received a complementary bottle of wine and the hotel catered dinner for everyone free of charge since all the local eateries were closed. Staff were very helpful and inviting! The walls are thin but so long as you aren’t near a family with children your stay will be perfect! Gorgeous view of the Hudson to boot!
